Weekend in Cambridge

March 2nd, 2008

I just came back from Cambridge. I went there to visit a few friends I used to work with back in the old days. At first I didn’t know what to expect since I hadn’t seen them in quite a while. It turned out to be a very nice weekend. Yesterday we went around some of the colleges over there, of which there are many. It is quite amazing to imagine there are student living and studying in these places. These buildings seem to come from a different age.

In the evening we decided to hit the town centre for a few drinks. My flatmate – who lived in Cambridge a few years ago – suggested to go to the Anchor, a pub on the river side. It is quite a nice pub. I can imagine it must be even nicer during the summer. Cambridge at night is very lively. I suppose having so many students explains why. We didn’t stay out too late and went back to my friend’s flat to catch a bit of sleep.

Today we went to say hello to other friends there. We came a bit uninvited but were welcomed with a nice lunch followed by a few sessions of Nintedo Wii. That was a lot of fun.

Now I’m back home, quite tired but happy about a nice weekend away from London.
